Guide to Spain

Visiting Spain was everything I’d hoped it would be.   Here as some highlights to guide you on your future endeavors!

Madrid

Planning:

Gran Vía Capital: Absolutely stunning apartments right in the heart of the city. So many great places and shops only a walking distance away. The room was absolutely stunning with a lot of room and excellent decor.

Sites:

Parco de Retiro: A beautiful park to walk around and enjoy the beautiful surrounding buildings and nature.

Palacio de Crystal: An all glass building in the heart of the park that is so beautiful and worth a visit.

Paraguas: The area is really nice and higher end with its really nice restaurants, shops and overall atmosphere.

Food:

Mercado de San Miguel: This place is so amazing with different spots to order foods, desserts, and drinks. It’s perfect to try different foods, get fresh fruits, coffee and have amazing wine. The paella here was amazing and I got an amazing cheese plate with wine.

Fortino: This is a good lunch place with a great selection of pizzas! The margarita pizza is out of this world good!

Mama Framboise: Cute pastry place with togo sandwiches and coffee!

Amazónico: Really nice higher end restaurant in the cutest area. Book ahead for sure because it’s in high demand!

Quintin: Super cute restaurant in the Paraguas area. The decor and ambiance is super nice and picture cute. The food here is absolutely amazing as well; order the ceviche!

Chocolateria San Ginés: The most amazing churros and chocolate. this place is open 24 hours a day and is absolutely delicious.

Olivia te Cuido: Cute little restaurant with amazing food for a nice lunch. We really liked the ceviche, pumpkin ravioli, eggplant and the chicken. You really can’t go wrong though. Beware no credit cards accepted.

Mallorca

Planning:

Palma: This is the main part of Mallorca with all the shops and food areas. This is a central part of the island with all places max 30 minutes away. The beach is about a 30 minute walk so if you do want to stay on the water I would pick a specific beach, but if you prefer being in the heart I’d stay in this area.

Art Hotel Palma: We stayed here which was originally an art museum renovated into a hotel about a year ago. It’s really cute with the small boutique feel.

Sites:

Camp de Mar: Absolutely stunning beach about 25 min (55 min bus ride) away from town. it has a restaurant sitting on an island with a long bridge connecting.

Food:

Tast: Such a yummy tapas place right in the heart. For sure try the spicy potatoes, mini burgers, and the garlic prawns!

Peix : Amazinggg paella and mediterranean rice. known for seafood as well. super delicious

Giovanni: Amazing gelato! it’s a little pricy but always a long line so you know it’s good

Koa: Nice dinner restaurant with a cool vibe and amazing food. super amazing starters- ceviche, pork tacos, calamari.

St. Lorenzo: Really amazing lunch/dinner place. all gluten free and lactose free options you would never know. the pizza wasn’t amazing but such good truffle ravioli, tapas, and brownie dessert!

Burger Lab: Great american style burgers and fries!

La Bodeguilla: Really nice fancy dinner with great tapas, fish, and meat options!

Barcelona

Planning:

Midtown Apartments: The best place to stay with incredible decor and so much room in a great part of time. I highly recommend this one and wish I could have stayed longer!

Sites:

Sagrada Familia: Gaudis beautiful designs in this ever evolving cathedral. definitely worth going!

Park Guell: Such a site to walk around and enjoy the amazing architecture. You pay an admission but definitely worth it. The cheetah girls filmed here which is an added bonus;)

Opium Nightclub: Super fun night club with good vibes, english music and more tourists ready to have a good time.

Food:

Cafe Petit Pot: Super little cute lunch/dinner spot. get the ceviche! they have fresh juices and salads. i loved the apple celery carrot lemon juice

Elsa y Fred: Super adorable breakfast/lunch/dinner place with amazing breakfast and yummy tapas. Loved the mushroom croquettes, cheese plate, and sangria! Definite stop.

Happy Travels!
